When we developed TigMap we had some specific technology
goals in mind that we wanted to achieve:
Deliver what is needed - too often IT application vendors
are guilty of losing the key functions of what is required
and keep on developing more and more. We deliver what
is needed – we focus on what the client really needs.
We don’t get carried away by technology for its
own sake and avoid unnecessary IT clutter. We provide
key functionality and avoid the temptation to add all
the “bells and whistles”. Indeed, if we feel
a customer requires greater functionality than one of
our own TigLets we will recommend a competitor product
if appropriate for that module.
Integrate where possible - in our experience most organisations
have already invested heavily in their existing IT environment,
(software, hardware and the people skills). We always
look to leverage existing investments by integration.
Whether by our own APIs (Application Programming Interfaces)
or through middleware, we find it makes life less risky
and less costly for all.
Support Open Source, SOA (Service Orientated Architecture)
and composite application development - TigMap supports
all of these.
Make it easy to use and support - users don’t need
a training course for Amazon or eBay and we believe we
are doing our job if we deliver solutions that are usable
with 10 minutes. We have taken tried and tested concepts
that users have seen outside of corporate environments
and embedded them in TigMap. We’ve added some unique
(patent pending) features to enable us to deliver high
value solutions suitable for business use.
